Why Online Therapy Is Right For You

According to a 2018 study published in the Journal of Psychological Disorders, online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. However, if you haven’t yet experienced the freedoms and other advantages this affords, you may still question whether it’s right for you.

Online therapy is nice because it opens up new ways to communicate, as in–you don’t have to leave the comforts of your own home or office! How amazing is it that you can get quality therapy all while staying in your PJs and not even having to drive or park anywhere?!! As a therapist who offers online video counseling, I also provide a confidential Client Portal for my clients to easily message me in-between sessions.

What’s great about online counseling is that you can do therapy on your terms! In the past, you’ve likely had to plan around visiting your therapist’s office every week (which includes having to commute, find parking, etc). And if you have small children, scheduling a traditional therapy session can become especially prohibitive when you must also arrange for childcare.

Online therapy is a convenient solution to any barriers that could be stopping you from getting the help you deserve. If you’re a prominent figure in your community, for example, you might be hesitant to pursue therapy because you’d prefer to keep a low-profile. Or, maybe you’re sensitive about being seen in a counselor’s office due to a fear of being judged.

Whatever it is that’s held you back from seeking therapy in the past doesn’t matter. What matters most is what you do from here on out–and now more than ever is the time to prioritize your mental health. If you’re interested in learning more about the process of online counseling and are ready to invest in your happiness……schedule a consultation with me today!
